What is Indian Head Massage?
This wonderfully relaxing, yet invigorating form of massage dates back 5,000 years.  It has its origins in the ancient Ayurvedic system of medicine used in India.  (Ayurvedic means ‘the science of life’; it aims to restore balance and inner harmony to the mind, body and spirit.)

Over the centuries, families in India have used the massage as a form of social bonding, and regularly give each other head massages.  It is very much a part of family life with children as young as 6 being taught this ancient skill.

Now a popular form of massage in Western society, Indian Head Massage treatments involve massage and acupressure techniques on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face.  This relaxes the tense areas and also helps to rebalance the energy, clearing any areas of negativity.

The first treatment will include a full health consultation, looking at all issues of health and lifestyle so that the therapist can get a full picture of the client and presenting conditions. The first treatment and consultation will last up to 60 minutes and further treatments will last 30-45 minutes depending on the condition.
The treatment is non-invasive and no clothes need to be removed, although it is preferable to wear light clothing.   The therapist may use massage oils during the scalp massage but can be left out if requested.
